April Showers Bring May Flowers!

After months of cold and dreary weather, many of us feel an urge to spring clean and spruce up our homes with the new season. It can be difficult to know where to begin to give your space a fresh feel. Check out some tips from our very own Arbor Design Consultant, Marissa Wehner, for some inspiration!

Spring is right around the corner and warmer days are coming! No better time to break out the spring flowers before May showers begin. Here are quick ways to freshen up your home for the new season:

Spruce Up Your Front Door
Switch out your winter wreath with something new and incorporate florals and spring greenery to brighten up the door as you greet your guests. Use ribbons with brighter spring colors to add a pop of color to a simple wreath that you might already have. Another easy switch is to swap out your doormat.

Brighten Up The Exterior
Start planning flower beds and gardens to brighten up the exterior and curb appeal of your home. Planting some flowers early allow for your beds to be full and beautiful in the peak of summer. The general rule is to wait to plant after Mother's Day as there is a less chance of frost!

Lighten Up Your Living Space
Add some new throw pillows and a new throw blanket in a brighter color. It is easy to change the whole feel of a room just by swapping some darker, moody décor pieces with some lighter, more colorful options. Here is a great spring color scheme from our Destination model at Estes Park:

Bring Florals Inside
Changing small little things in a space can make a big impact. Add a pop of color to your home with some faux florals in a vase in your kitchen or add the beautiful aroma of spring with real flowers from the local florist. Here is an example of simple greenery from our Meadows at Sagebrook model:
